I have been very lucky to have someone program a PIC chip for a timer, it has a transistor in the circuit and detects the beep signal. This is very small and I was able to remove the heat shrink from Hilgert's unit and put some more on which was about 3/4" longer. Fits perfectly on the RHS of the main board in my DSX9 (9303), Very neat and tidy.
I am still very pleased with the conversion and would like to thank Hilgert for a splendid design and kit. I found the instructions very acurate and easy to follow. It certainly helps if you have a previous knowledge of soldering etc.

Well after an easy 3 hours work (took my time) Ive got my backlighting working on my MX22 with no probs what-so-ever.

As clive45 said, the instructions were excellent and what seemed to be a bit involved at first, was much simpler than I expected. Only very basic soldering skills are required. For anyone with even limited electronics experience, its a snap.

The screen lights up beautifully, and the 'buz' sound is fairly quiet and only slightly noticeable....not that it matters anyway.

A big thanks to Hilgert....nice job dude!

Add me to the list. My X9303 just took a crap on me today. Screen was acting really weird, odd symbols and such, now won't turn on. On top of that something smells burnt when the battery cover is off. DAMN IT!

Okay, finally done travelling (for THIS week), and the move is done (well, I have a house full of boxes, but they are at least in ONE house now!!!).

I can build 9303 kits immediately...will be sending PMs. DX7 and DX6i might be a bit.

I came across this thread while trying to find information on module interchangability. New at RCGroups, even though I signed up in 2007. Must learn how to use and navigate. Have 72mz 9303, want to do Hilgert's backlite thing...how do I buy parts for his latest and get started?

On Another Subject:

If I purchase a Spectrum 5 or 7-channel transmitter, will the module (if it has one?) work in my 9303?

Thanks, Phil
