If you want to do a motor swap, stick with something it it's now engine size. A .45? No way Dude! The hull won't handle the HP and torque. how much money do you want to blow on this boat? Convert it to surface drive, get that header shortened somehow because at the length that it's presently at, the pipe is just a lousy muffler. right now, work with props and up the Nitro percentage a little with some good boat fuel.
Have you drilled a 1" hole in the canopy over the carb? This will allow cool air to get to the motor instead of sucking warm air in from the back.

Ferral, I'd race you if you weren't in Oz. You got a lot of bottom end end power but nothing at the top end. Yes, I'd run against you with my Super-Vee 27.
My son driving it like a fool........
SV 27 Nitro @ Kalamazoo Fun Run 2008 (4 min 44 sec)

I didn't shoot the video as I was busy elsewhere, I had a lot of boats with me that day. It plays twice for some reason.
