Yes, it is difficult to select a single site that can support any type of flying supported by the AMA. Yet another reason I do not support the single site owned and supported by the entire AMA membership - even those members that cannot use it.

Fraught with peril. Who decides the popularity and how?

Tell you what - I know what I like to fly and I know where to go to fly it. I try won't make your support of my site a condition of joining the AMA.

Nauga,
who was a member pre-Muncie and will remain a member

What I was suggesting is the AMA support the fundrasing efforts to create other regional sites. I wasn't avocating that they pay for the site itself.

You do have a good point in that if a district wanted to tax itself to fund it, (after a vote of the district membership) then should the AMA not be allowed to collect it? Maybe they could include a check box for donations like they do for the national site. Would you support the AMA solicting corportate donations to fund a regional site? Look, it's Horizon field in Visalia, CA.

How much I would pay is more than you're willing and that's OK.

Since I live in District 5 and the election is in district 10, I guess it's not in my backyard. I was born in California, so maybe it's close

Others have suggested that it's the local clubs responsibility for fields. I never suggested that a regional field would ever replace the local clubs. It's more a way to showcase model aviation and to have a consistant site for contests.
