Discussion Aluminum or Brass End Plugs ?

I am in Sacramento where there are a few good anodizing shops and can most likely add my aluminum end-plugs to there vats.

Sounds great! Let us know how convenient and cost effective this is.

Another alternative for you is to blast clean the parts with a mild abrasive like aluminum oxide, then coat it with a phenol novolac epoxy like our Gas Tank Sealer.

I guess you have several choices now.

Just a thought if you decide to Ano these parts. When you machine this, make sure you radius the all the corners well, no sharp edges. The pores in the anodise grow like honeycomb and at 90 degrees to the surface, so on a sharp edge, you could have a bare spot. By putting a large radius on the corner, you diminish this effect.

I forgot to mention that we also have a section on our forum where you can post requests for people to do work for you. As we have thousands of Anodisers as clients, you may find one nearby who can carry out this work for you. I know a number of them specialise in various types of finish.
