Thanks, that's a great idea. I already have some lead in the nose for balance and hate having useless weight there. I'll put a receiver battery there and try it. Thanks for your help!!

Just quick note RE: system shut down. The separate reciever battery did the trick!! I will use it since I'm needing balast and I like the reliability of a separate battery on this particular model. Thanks again for your correct answer!!

Never had a problem to write home about with my DX7 till Sunday at the field.
Turned on my DX7 Radio selected "Super Air" model. Plugged 5S Lipo into CC-80 and counted 5 beeps. Plugged wing servos in, installed wing on model. Placed model on the ground. No functions. Not even throttle. Put model back in cradle and removed wing. Took note amber lamp was on the 7000 series RX <steady light> Scratched my head, disconnected battery, and reconnected. Again we get 5 beeps and this time all functions work. Made 3 flights on model Sunday and 5 on another model. Thoughts? Tommy D |

I'd either install an external switch, or somehow have alileron extensions long enought that you can plug in the wing servos before plugging in the LiPo. After the battery is plugged in, then you attach the wing. Possible? |

On very very rare occasions, the AR7000 receiver is known to power up but not control the servos.
It may be a function of a "disorderly" power application such as switch bounce or the dreaded big flash as you plug in a battery. I have never seen it often enough to investigate further, and have never been able to make it do it to order. |

Along these same lines-
I'm using an AR7000 in my powered glider. My startup sequence is power on Tx, power on Rx (check that the lights activate on both the main and satellite), range check, fly. If lights don't come up correctly, I turn all off and repeat the sequence. Since I have to pop the canopy to disconnect the battery after a flight, I always notice the status of the Rx lights. Usually both lights are on steady, but occasionally, I'll have a steady light on the satellite and no light on the main (with the Tx still on). I haven't ever noticed loss of control, but it bothers me because gliders are usually flown high and sometimes far away. ![]() In reading this thread, I haven't noticed mention of this particular situation. Does anyone know what it might mean? BTW, I don't know if this Rx has the firmware update, and I plan to send it off soon. I'm not flying it until I'm sure it's solid. Thanks- Rick |

Yesterday i had a weird thing happen. This is on a foamy with a 6100 receiver. I did my first flight and everything was fine. I unpluged the battery turn tx off and talked for 5 minutes. Turned tx on pluged battery in led was on, i always check. Launched the plane had control for a few seconds and then it goes into fail safe, or so i think. I had no servo control and the motor turned off. After about 2 seconds it came back on and i had full control again. When i landed the led was not blinking. Anyone else seen something like this?

Ive had a 6100e running a Su31 for a few months with no problems. Normal shutdown after flying last week and now it wont bind and LED just blinks rapidly.
Tried all the suggestions on this thread as well as many rebinds, no change. ESC and servos plug in and work normally on 6200 rx, esc beeps every 2 secs or so on the 6100 and servos flick on battery connection. Tried new bind on another memory slot. Nothing. Written to Horizon for info on the blinking (literally) rx, awaiting answer. Any ideas?

Hmm. Sounds a bit like a problem I had with an AR500 - midflight, servos would start jerking erratically and when I landed (not an easy task!), the LED would be flashing (not blinking). I corresponded with Horizon, but none of their suggestions had any effect, so they asked me to send it back and they replaced it under warranty. So I'd suspect a faulty receiver too in your case.
