I do fly against the traffic when my buddies and me have our own "funfly" but not with anything we worry about crashing. I watched this guy put baby stroller wheels on a avistar and not just normal ones 5-1/2 inch.the two wheel kind so four wheels ,it looked sick,I was afraid to ask why when he told me he wanted to take off from tall grass. I wish I had that pic.Safety has my attention all the time cause I have stories for you ! Man I talk too much ...sorry i'll shut up !.....Ant, sorry about your pro jetti, I watched what happend ,ask me what happend to my tigermoth one day when it turned to confetti, "BEST CRASH" i'll ever see and never repeat again. look at this guys face ,he had fun !

Yeah Terry -- when he flies that I stay away LOL.. For a guy that as been flying for a long time he still can't fly worth a lick. Your Tigermoth T should of been on video.. That would of been a great slow mo scene. LOL

Yes and no, I hate to lose a plane for any reason. But if you are going to get hit in a midair, it sure helps to ease the pain when the hitter compensates you. Thanks again Lee E. from Castle Creations!

Pete

PS. This one probably will drive some rule changes to limit the size of the floatplanes and get better separation from the parkflyer area. There was way too much overlap, let alone separation.

Pete,

I seem to recall there was some discussion that the floatplane area was reserved for "park flyer" sized planes only. I think some pilots might have overlooked that from what I saw.

I don't know what could be done to eliminate the overlap between the slow flyers and float planes other than use a common pattern. They are pretty darn close - one agreed to pattern might be the simplest approach.

Tom mentioned in another thread that it will probably be restricted to park flyers next year. I think I was hit by a 40 size trainer.

Interesting thought about the same pattern. Actually it would be the opposite pattern so while we share the airspace we would be flying in the same direction. Definitely possible when the wind is light.

Pete , great to see you & the wife got home safely. Did you notice how much room at south end and nobody was using. When I watched the float planes do circle with touch & go's ....I "KNEW" it was a matter of time....sorry it was you. Overlapping was putting it mildly..... coming at you from left ,right and up the middle makes for some fun flying for sure. Hopefully we'll get the same location for flightline and hog the south end.Tim had a great time flying there even when controllers left field outside of events. Staff did a great job and I enjoy having you as my Neighbor.
