It teaches you to use the wind instead of teaching you to fear it.
so does throwing a slowstick up in 12 knot winds

Carlsbad, Ca.

Today we're going to have a little memorial for a good friend. If you're in the area and would like to try sloping or a quiet electric plane stop by. If you need help maidening a glider or quiet electric plane stop by too.

Which I do, I'm sorry I have had a bad experience with freebie students. I provide my equipment, plane and instruct to takeoff and landing. I totally agree. When I offer to teach people for free, more times than not, they don't show up when they're supposed to. Which is totally opposite when they are paying for instruction. But, as a hobby shop owner, if someone buys aircraft from me, flight instruction or any other type of help is free with purchase, be it RC airplanes or helicopters. I teach people to fly both without a buddy-box and teach hovering electric helis indoors. I offer free RC flying experience with both airplanes and helicopters to everyone.

Interestingly enough, the majority of those who come to me and chose to pay for instruction, come from clubs who teach for free.
