hobby shops in the UK?

Hello, I just moved to the UK and I am looking for some hobby shops. Would any one be able to tell me where some are or how to find them? Thanks!

Well compared to the US the UK is very small. But there aren't really any big "chains" of hobby stores so it would help if you told us where abouts you are?

Thanks for the reply, I am in RAF lakenheath, near Mildenhall. Its also near Cambridge.
Surrounded by mostly farm land, think the farmers would allow me to fly over head?

I don't know too much about shops in that area but I think there is a Hobby stores there (http://www.hobbystores.co.uk/).
I wouldn't have thought that the farmers would mind as long as you don't land on their crops but i would advise you to ask the farmer first.

Hi,
I'm sure there are a few shops in Cambridge you can go to.
Refer to the 'yellow pages' in the telephone book.
Since most of the models you buy is at 'dollar for pound' in this country, I would have thought it would be better for you to shop from your USA local hobby shop?
I checked on the horizon hobby USA as one example and they will give you free shipping with no size restrictions.
As to flying over farmer's fields, do try and get the farmer's permission first. Please keep in mind that we are restricted to fly outside a 2 1/2 mile distance - radius of any active airfield.
I'm sure Lakenheath has a model flying area on base - outside as well as indoor fly in a sports hall / hangar.

Hope this helps, and welcome to England.

Regards,
Toné
