Good Question...

In an early 1980's edition of Model Builder magazine, it shown a Miss Darla, plus a few on the Pole Cat. In several issues in mentions there are kits out on market for both, or plans, but I did not see any advertisements for either.

Got an Idea as to who did such?

I found the edition of AAM with the Hot Canary, and plan is lacking certain information, so hope whatever is found is more complete.

[b]The pole cat was one of my favorites also. I do have a fiberglass fuselage of the Miss Darla, a wing and tail feathers. I just sold on ebay a Fiberglass fuse of the Shoestring. I really don't have an idea of who did the kits. I remember Fransis products, Jack Stafford and his Minnow design, Terry Prather..............Toni, Right now I have a Jack Stafford Midget Mustang F1 on ebay for sell. This was a great model.

Eddie,

I think you are looking for the R&B Special, which was later named the Miss Dara (
Dayton Air Race Associates). Looked similar to the Polecat. I don't remember who made the F1 kit, House of Balsa made a more popular 1/4 miget (.15) sized version.

Scroll down about a quarter of the link page.

Miss Dara

Eddie

I worked with Jack Stafford in his Kit business for 10yrs. Miss Dara was kitted by PB products watch was Bob Smith the same Bob Smith that sells the CA glue. He might now where the tooling is. It had a habit of a hi speed tip stall in the first turn do to the lamaner tip airfoil. The real Miss Dara never raced It crashed during a test flight. Jack staffords Ricky Rat was the first long wing F1 to race and was very fast. Today from what I see all F1 racers have long wings they unload out of the turns. Just a bite of info. from my past. I flew F1 and 1/4 midgets from the start to 1983. Also kitted 2 planes a 1/2 A cricket racer and a sport 40 pattern the Sting.

Sonny, thank you for the update. Your name rings a bell to me. I was a member of the B.I.R.D. club in carson California and was their president in 1978 and again in 1983. I judged Patten and scale for 15 years and was a contest Director for many years while being a member of the B.I.R,Ds. club.

I am living in the midwest now. and you are so right the models have changed so much. If I remember you built a beautiful model of Jacks B-24. another guy I remember is Dave Lane who was offen seen with Jack. Good memories from the past.
