A 50 12s with new TP batteries
Th application list at Hacker/Aeromodel website suggestsA50 12s, 14x7 APCe prop with 6s battery giving just under the 1250 watt rated max.
With my brand new 1st charge 6sTP prolite V2 5000 mah, I headed out to the field (elevation 1300 ft) and did a watt meter check. 1504 watts 65 amps. I didn't fly that combination; but at home I massaged the numbers on ecalc to give me the actual measured watts/amps. Using these battery parameters it seems 13x7 would be great and 13x6.5 would give 1122 watts. So I am going to try that. This is gross overkill for an Ultrastik 40; but it is my test bed for motors. |

David,
Thanks for posting the results of your testing. We are definitely finding that the newer batteries are making a huge difference in last year's test setups. We are working hard to test each new motor setup as fast as we can, but as you can imagine - there are hundreds of them! We appreciate the support and the efforts of modelers like yourself when you come across new numbers like this - I will make sure to add this data to our application database! Mike |
