Official Flying Site Update!!

Hello all, here is the latest flying site update. The Bermuda seed has started to germinate. It will be up to Mother Nature as to how fast we get coverage.

If you drive out to the new field, do not be alarmed by the fact that there are weeds growing on the field. This was fully anticipated and will be handled by Carolina Green. We will begin the first application of Nitrogen shortly and hopefully that will accelerate the growth. A broadleaf weed killer will be applied after a little more growth of the Bermuda and that will handle the weeds.

As far as the rebuilding process and use of the new field for flying goes. Upon the recommendation of Carolina Green we will not begin any rebuilding before June 1st at the earliest depending on the progress of the grass. This may be later, it all depends. I do not anticipate the field to be ready to fly on until approximately July 1.

There are two area clubs that have now offered us use of there field at no cost to us. The flying aces have given us permission to use the Lowes Motor Speedway site and the York County Flyers have given us privelages to use there flying site.

If there are any further questions, or constructive comments (Yes Dale, I said constructive comments) please feel free to post here or contact me via email at rvpinto@bellsouth.net

Hope to see everyone soon.
