Removable Landing Gear

I have a pair of snow skis drying in a form to curve the front right now.

Fortunately, I made my landing gear removable when I built my BB with 2" wide fuselage.

Here are some pics and a pdf file with templates.

In a nutshell;

When cutting LG slot in mono-block, cut it very thin. Friction holds LG in fine.
Hot glue plastic slot protector over slot.
Form LG with .062 wire.
I use Hobbyzone wheels (stock # in pdf file).
Use 1/16" wheel collars.

Works great. Worst damage so far, plastic slot protector separated from foam at one side on hard landing. LG remained in place. Re-glued & ready to go again.

Update: Here's a link to my homemade skis. They work great!
