Here are some pictures of the engine room. When I built the model, I installed a stock MACK Products stuffing tube. The original motor shaft was offset from the prop shaft quite a bit, so I used some rc car pinion gears to power the prop. After about three years I changed that to a belt drive system. I made a new mount so the motor was over the stuffing tube, with the motor shaft facing forward. Since I broke the last belt I had on July 1st, I decided to rip[ out the old belt drive mount anfd go with a direct drive.

The motor in it's new rough location. I still need to make a new motor mount. This is the aft cockpit area, the bow is to the right.
Looking in the "engine room". I shortened up the stuffing tube, in place. You can see the left over epoxy from the belt drive mount that was in here earlier.
From the port side, 6 cell battery rests on a platform. You could squeeze two 6 cell batteries in there.
540 size motor, about 3/16" clearance under the rear seat.
