Quite a major improvement, I have to say...
By the way, can somebody (Tom?) explain what the "audio volume" setting in the GUI does? Does it in/decrease play-back volume or recoding volume or microphone sensitivity? Because as you can hear in the last video, audio volume is set to "low", but playback volume is quite high...
Your mod does exactly what you wanted!
The volume issue has surface a number of times here. I guess I'll need to add this to the FAQs links. The different volume settings (other than "off") do not significantly alter the perceived volume in the recording, although they do reduce the amplitude of the recorded audio waveform a bit. It's just not enough, and could use some tweaking when (if) the developer ever has time to go back and do it. But even if the settings did reduce the volume more, it would not have solved your problem since the wind noise and motor sound would both be affected approximately the same amount.
