1911 Fokker "Spin" RC Model Plane

Hi everyone,

I just finished the construction and test flights of my design of the 1911 Fokker "Spin". The Spin was designed by Anthony Fokker and two colleagues in 1911, and used to teach themselves how to fly. Anthony Fokker, of course, went on to design many fighter aircraft designs for the German Air Force in World War I. Spin is the Dutch name for Spider, an apt nickname for a plane with so many flying and rigging wires.

The Spin has a 28 inch wingspan, three channels of control, and uses the ParkZone line of RC gear. This is a prototype to ensure the model flies OK, which is does. I will draw up a final set of CAD plans, and make a final version with all the rigging in place.

Really, a very easy model to build, and has a lot of character

Tim
