I have a homemade balancer. It's essentially a basswood stick with one end clamped to a table. Connect the motor to the other end. At the very end of the stick, mount a small piece of mirror. Run the motor, and shine a laser pointer on the mirror so that it reflects on the wall. Any imbalance in the motor vibrates the stick, and the reflected laser will jump around on the wall. Then use small bits of tape to balance the motor.

This method works great, and it's easy to set one up for any size motor.
