$4k is not that bad considering what you're getting.
Used to be $10-20k for a large handheld unit.

The main problem I see is the widest FoV lens is 13mm which works out to 45 degrees
horizontal FoV. http://www.flir.com/cvs/cores/view/?...=549&col=51273
That's going to feel like flying through binoculars compared to the 70-100+ degrees FoV
we're normally used to.
