UTA Mavericks Commerical and Research Air Vehicle

Not much Traffic lately but here are a few shots of the Mavericks University of Texas in Arlington 17 foot Mobile built research and commerical airship. It made its first public outing last Friday evening and has 40 games scheduled for this season. Vehicle is also being utilized as an autonomous flight control test bed. Double duty to help pay for itself. Banners in work for advertising so she will pay her way.

Aircraft has aerodynamics on tail as well as thrust vectoring and is an excellent handling ship with no vices. Motors are Eflite 15s across the board swinging stacked 8/6 props in nacelles. At present testing shows that its only pulling about 4000 mils per hours and it carries 8000 plus mils on board. Normal flights are less than 45 minutes total time for event. It was built to carry weight for internal lighting and projection testing as well. Mobile did an excellent job and retrofit by me was minimal. I prefer a single point switch or shorting plug for the ship. Makes things simpler when rushing to get ship on its mark for launch against a script.

There are three more ships in various stages of construction to be on line and flying for this season throughout Texas. Choctaw Casino 17 foot conventional shaped for Dallas Stars, Flying Limo 18 foot for Texas Legend, Rudy's BBQ 18 foot bottle at Texas A&M and a conventional shaped 13 footer for Baylor in Waco. A couple others may show their head before end of November but that remains to be seen.

Right now I am down with a medical issue (AFIB) but all the crews are busting ass to get ready for season. Presently there are ships flying for the Dallas Cowboys and for the Texas Stars in Cedar Park above Austin. Going to be busy this season. ed.
