FSS#7 at San Felasco Oct. 13 and 14, 2012

FSS Unlimited Thermal Duration Soaring Contest #7 will be held on Saturday, October 13th, and Sunday, October 14th, 2012, at San Felasco State Preserve State Park, Alachua, Florida.

Saturday, the pilot's meeting will be held at 9:45 and the contest will begin at 10:00. Sunday, the pilot's meeting will be held at 8:45 and the contest will begin at 9:00. On Saturday we'll try to complete seven full rounds, and on Sunday we'll limit the contest length to not starting a new round after 2:00 P.M.

Pilots will be classified as Experts and Sportsmen, and awards will be given for first, second, and third places in both classes. On both days the beginning task time will be announced at the pilot's meeting and task times may change after each round. Other rules will be discussed later in this thread.

Directions to the park north entrance, which includes the pavilion, bicycle trailhead, horse trailhead, and glider field. 13201 Progress Blvd, Alachua, Florida 32615
 From Gainesville: Drive north on 441 (can be accessed from NW 43rd St). Turn left on Progress Blvd and drive 0.7 miles to the park entrance. Note that the road changes from pavement to gravel a quarter mile before the entrance.
 From Alachua: From I-75, exit onto 441S (exit 399) and drive 2.8 miles south (through the city of Alachua). Turn right on Progress Blvd and proceed as above.

Entry fee will be $10/day (don't forget the $4 park entrance fee, unless you have an annual pass). Proceeeds go to the Friends of San Felasco http://www.sanfelasco.net/
