I have been enjoying flying the beetle, only indoors at the moment though
The weather is so windy here, that it would probably get blown away..

I have done a couple of modifications already.

1, removed the arms and shimmed them to make the sit at 90deg to frame.
the LHF in particular was sitting at about 85deg and causing the quad to drift backwards. Also fixed them back with a little hot glue, so can remove if needed in the future.

2, put some LEDs into the eye markings, powered by splicing into the JST connection. I could have soldered wires to the board, but this way makes it easy to remove body and choose whether to use the lights or not.
They are surprisingly bright, and will be good for orientation once I get outside.
you can see a small video my brother posted a few posts ago.

3, I have now used a few small cable ties to make some shock absorbing feet
I have not had a problem with landing on the wooden floor , but now it lands alot softer

I am still using the one battery, and awaiting for the chinese postman to bring me some more

John
