I kind of disagree with the LA being kind of weak compared to others.(there are hardly any others) I found mine went quite well on the stand with an opened up muffler baffle (800 more rpm in my case) and removing the .020 head shim and replacing it with a .005" shim for about a .015" headspace. Without the muffler it went 18,000 rpm compared to 16,200 stock muffler. Compared to a TD .09 @ 16,400, an OS FP at 17,200, an AP .09 @ 16,900. All on the same 7-4 MA prop without muffler. The Thunder Tiger GP 10 was weak at 13,500 (with muffler) I don't know what else is available in that size. As far as a plane, there aren't many kits or ARFs in that size other than Herr stuff and electric conversions from china of which there are many.
