Step in hingeline!

I have got that dreaded control surface "step" that you have had trouble with on my first (and last!) kevlar hinged wing. Three out of four hinges went ok, but one is just unacceptable.
I will have one more attempt at salvaging it tonight using heat applied with a heated wire. If that doesn't work, I'll be cutting mine off with a dremel and silicone hinging it.
I followed Joe Manor's excellent description of epoxy/splooge wipers and managed to make some serviceable ones on my first attempt. The secret is forward planning with the positioning of the drag spar and the control surface LE spar, as I'm sure you realise. Then the correct thickness "mylar" should be used, which I did not have. I used some very thin stuff which made for a slightly wavy surface. I'll have some of the size he recommends ready for the next effort.
