Sounds Familiar to me!!!! i passed the same steps.. but the fun and most enjoyed part was with Line Control or U-control, i remember my first plane was a Kit and after crashed a few times only the motor (Cox 0.49) was worthy and from that point i started to buy balsa and make my own designs of planes.. obviously flat planes (i don't remember the name of that kind of form of building).
Those old Cox 049's provided lots of entertainment as kids. We (my brother and I) went through a few of the plastic Cox birds, but my favorite was the Goldberg Lil Wizard profile plane we built. Very durable and aerobatic. Actually still have it.
