Talking to the UK importer of these, it seems the switch was made away from the tail surfaces being controlled by the old rod method in an effort to keep the moment-arm of the tail down to a more reasonable level, especially bearing in mind the moment-arm of the 2nd version model's tail wheel retract mechanism.

I've been running a pull-pull setup in an electrified edge 540 for a couple of years now, in conjunction with the screw type clevis, allowing adjustment to remove any slop from the wires. Cant fault it really, it does exactly what it's supposed to.

If it's good enough for full size aircraft, it's good enough for me.
