Schrederman's carbon keel

I realize the thread I'm citing here is pushing 8 years old but has this carbon keeled hold down evolved since then?

http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=269207

I've got the tailfeathers for my BoT built and I'm starting to cut new parts from lighter wood for the fuse so I can begin assembly of that. That means its time to start planning for the wing construction. I don't want to do rubber bands so bolts it is. Jack's carbon reinforced keel looks like what Tim Bennett was describing to me a few years ago and I'd rather have a solid center section and detachable tips simply for mechanical peace of mind.

Thoughts, critiques, etc. all welcome as always!
