Had a great first trip to Park Canyon Lake today (www.parkercanyonlake.com) about 1.5 hours south of Tucson flying the float plane! What a beautiful part of Arizona, and great operation they are running down there. Angie got to Kayak, and I got to float fly. Thanks to Scott for your hospitality and pictures! We will be back soon!

The weather was fantastic. It was really interesting flying for the first time at mile-high altitudes (5400 ft). I could not even afford the weight of even the cowl! The plane really had a long takeoff distance and sluggish climb rate (compared to flying at Patagonia Lake). It was 85 deg out, which equates to a density altitude of approx 5800 ft!! Stick and rudder flying at it’s best!

Here’s the unedited video: http://www.terynd.com/public/Parker_...ly-9.23.11.wmv (190 MB WMV)

This is the Hangar Nine ¼ scale cub (100 inch wingspan) with a Magnum 160 2-cylinder 4-stroke…
