Guys, the correct term is auxilliary air inlet!
On the Panther (same with the Cougar), the speed brakes are made functional and retract into the fuselage creating an aux inlet. Then, they can the be extended for landings and slow flight and the fan is still fed plenty of air. It's a pretty slick setup and is completely hidden.
Martin, what fan are you planning on using in the Panther? Looks like you're going EDF? Very cool!
