I especially like where he immediately took FPV completely out of the context and
examples presented in the article (flying low down the alps, the desert, and
the river around Manhattan) and went straight to intense fear mongering targeted
straight at the general public, about ingesting an I-phone [sic] at airliner altitudes, and
misrepresenting what we do as something that should be regulated as a purely commercial venture.

It just solidifies my opinion that by far the biggest threat to amateur FPV comes from within
the R/C community itself and if the misrepresentation and outright lies I now hear
regularly at my local hobby store are any indication, there are plenty of other R/C
pilots (and a few who just fancy themselves as such) who would be happy to go
out of their way to make our lives miserable.

I'm sure that totally alienating one of the fastest growing and evolving segments of model
aviation, will serve the AMA well.
