I have just discovered (thanks to topgearuk posting pictures of his heli and comparing them to mine) that there are two versions of the Walkera V100D01 Main Rotor Head.
The first version has the fingers slightly above the main shaft hole
where the pin goes through the head.
The version two head has the fingers 2mm higher than version one.
You can see this very clearly in the pictures below from ClubHeli.
So if your like me and have the version one head and turn up the
servo extent to max you may get extreme binding from the
servo link end to the fingers bending the main shaft and popping loose the
shaft collar on the main shaft.
You can adjust the links longer to clear the fingers "but" it will lower the
swash plate and you might not be able to turn in the links enough like me
and you will have to trim the link shafts a bit.
I just got off the phone with Rick from ClubHeli. He has confirmed
what I have found as he checked his stock and he has both versions.
I have two of the version two heads being shipped to me tomorrow.
The bottom line if you have the version two head you should be able to turn up the
servo travel to max on the rx and you won’t have the binding issue.
If you have the version one head and turn up the servo travel to max on the rx you
will probably have binding and you will need to make the links longer on top
and make the servo to swash links shorter. You may need to trim the link shafts like I have to but now I got the V2 head and all new links.
