I found a really sweet little motor in a defunct CD-RW drive. The stator is only 18 mm in diameter, and is twice the height of other CD-ROM stators I've seen. It only has bushings, but has a nice machined center that will hold bearings after the one-piece bushing is pushed out. Looks like it should be a torquey little motor.
