Veron Vortex 100S

Another British high-performance, half-wood, half-plastic machine from the 1970s!!

I just can't help myself!!

It might come as quite a shock to some that I have picked a model that has not been drawn by Chris Foss but you can have too much of a good thing. I've wanted to build one of these for decades (why exactly, I don't know!).

What's a 'Veron Vortex' then?

Well, it's a 100" span glider advertised for 'Thermal soaring, hillside and task soaring' that features a fibreglass fuselage and built up wings and tail surfaces.

A kit cost about 40 in the late 1970s when it was released (could have been earlier).

Designed by Phil Smith who died earlier this year.

Will post some photos of the kit contents in a bit when the camera batteries have charged but here's an original advert for the beast.
