WD can dissolve certain wire varnishes, from my understanding. I freed up a sticking doorbell plunger with it. Worked well for one day. I've heard to use CorrosionX or pure silicone spray. The motor is probably the most abuse worthy part, and can take a bit of water, as long as you get it out. I wouldn't worry about the motor too much.
