Well, another ESL weekend in the books. I think we had 28 pilots on Saturday and 31 on Sunday. What a great group.
The scores should be on the web site in a few days. When they are posted they will be here:
Saturday got kinda windy with winds topping 15 mph. Several planes ended up in the trees, but most were right at the edge of the field. I am not aware of anyone going down deep.
I was the first to go into the trees. It had nothing to do with wind, I just misjudged my location. I thought I was in front of the trees, turning on final for my landing, but when I banked the wing, it disappeared behind the tree. I had one of those "oh %$&* moments. Then it ended up in the tree.
Fortunately I bring a back-up. So I finished the contest. No prize but I got the plane back later that day. Alls well that ends well.
Next we move on to Pennsylvania Oct 9 & 10 for the last ESL TD contest of the season. Two days of fun and flying.
Then we have the last DLG contest on October 16 and 17 in Hagerstown Maryland.
Whether you fly the big planes or the small, I hope you will join us.
