I have had grass clippings stall the rotor. Sometimes it is neccessary to carry a little power for a successful/safe landing. With no brake being used, the fan could still be turning on touch down. So as Kelberts pointed out, it is a good practice to check the ducting for FOD. A stalled fan is a good way to ruin a ESC or just trigger the overload shut down. Either one completely avoidable with good preflight practices.
