Most of my GWS kits have been build fairly close to the specs in the manuals and have all flown great. Are there any concerns I should have, or anything I should do differently than the manual suggests?

That Corsair is about 10% larger and 10-20% heavier than the GWS P-40 (depending on whether you have EPS or EPO version and going with or without the LG). So, that corsair power plant would certainly be enough, but you might have an issue with being a bit nose heavy. Mine balance just right with a 400 class outrunner and 1300 3S lipo pack with the foam stock spinner and no LG. That E-Flite outrunner has a spec kV of 960, so you could most likely prop up to a less-scale-looking 10x5 or 10x6 2-blade prop if you prefer more thrust with a little less speed as I do with mine.

Just keep the tail feather control deflections low per the manual. If you try to crank them up to get "better" aerobatic performance, you can induce an unexpected roll tendency at lower speeds.

Good luck with it. It's a nice looking and performing plane.

<edit> You might have a size mismatch between wing halves at the root as I and many others had. This post shows how I dealt with it to keep the wings in proper alignment.

Also, the stock foam spinner is very problematic... it needs a plate to attach to the spinner behind the prop to keep it centered properly. I used a thin ply backing plate and glued the spinner on with Perfect Glue #1 (while spinning the motor to assure it's centered). This glue has good "grab" yet stays flexible and can be sliced through easily to remove the spinner for a prop change. Nice plastic third-party spinners are used by many folks, but it makes the plane more nose heavy. <edit>
