I'm sorry I didn't mean to say that my sails were better than Mr. Blacks. Far from it. But, you could buy some clearphane from a craft store for $4-$5. The corner patch material might be old airplane cover material, the eyelets are what $2-$3 for 100. I use a shipping strap material to go on the luff that is a role for another $4. Once you have the material in had it is just a matter of cutting and bending it on. The cost mostly is in the labor. You could get a couple of hour tied up in making a suit. For us slow guys you could have 3.

We have a good mix of racers/builders and friends in our club. Beating the guy next to you is good, but keeping the enjoyment of sailing for everyone is more important.
