GWS Declares War! WWII Reenactment

1 Attachment(s)
Quiet E. Flyer had asked last year what surprise we might have in store for next year, (in this thread) so here it is! :D

Does anyone remember Ida Grove?Ida Grove

Well it is long overdue to recapture the sprit of that event in electric! Thanks to GWS we will be having a Saturday WWII reenactment at the Electric Flight Expo March 13-15, 2009!

Imagine a few C-47s depart on a supply mission to drop troops and supplies while P-38's provide air cover. Once word comes in that there has been some chatter on the radio, Corsairs will scramble from the flight line and go on patrol. Suddenly the Zeros appear out of nowhere and the battle is on to find the Ace of the Pacific (well the Ace of the stadium anyway)! Of course we have a few tricks up or sleeves to make this as fun as it can be.

We are still looking for some top Aces that can build and fly in this event. We have a few spots left so shoot us a PM if you are local to the Phoenix area, you are an accomplished pilot and have the time to build and fly in this event. We will supply you with all of the military "assets" you need! (transmitter not included)

To top it all off, we will be hosting 3 of the original Tuskegee Airmen at our event with an opening speech by one the the Airmen in the 99th! Now is your chance to meet some real life heroes who made history with the Tuskegee Airmen!

We hope to see you at the stadium during the GWS Battle for Honor!

Jack

Due to the nature of this event we are requesting that you submit the attached application as indicated on the form. Thanks for applying and BTW you get to keep what is left of your gear and airframe! Good luck....and we are all counting on you.

Actually... some of us knew about this a few months ago... :p

Nevertheless, Corsairs, P-38s, Zekes, and C-47s buzzing around in the stadium trying to blow each other up!

This is going to be awesome!!! :D

Last year the combat was one of the most exciting events and I am certain the GWS battle will an even bigger hit with the attendees! Perhaps we need a 12' USS GWS aircraft carrier?
