On Topic - Cool General Aviation Stuff To Share
I thought that I'd create one more category for a location for people to share model and full scale aviation links from the net that don't fit into any other category.

Giant Quaker
I was browsing the electric sailplane threads and found this hog. If I were to build a giant scale something or other, I think this would be it. Electric motor and battery more than likely.

I thought I'd pull some cool videos from our old forums site.

Hilltop Landings

Deadstick take off: (make sure to watch his other videos)

I remember reading about the Cri Cri when I was in junior high. See a big model airplane in action.
French homebuilt ultralight aircraft (3 min 21 sec)

Kids can build airplanes too. This one is long, but worth watching. I was looking for a different video and ran across this one.
Sabrina 2006 "Building an Airplane for my Dad" (8 min 25 sec)

More on the Sabrina plane video. She is from the Chicago area. Here is a news special about it.

Challenger Fly In Photo
1 Attachment(s)
This is the group of guys that I tagged along with down to Erie, IL last Friday/Saturday to the Challenger Fly-In. I flew back seat to the guy with the white beard. The 2 place Challenger that we are standing in front of is Paul Paris’s plane, the guy with the light colored shorts. We were considered the “Wautoma Group” and cleaned house on awards. Paul’s plane (one in the photo) took the President’s Choice Award, Two-Rivet Rod (red hat) took second in People’s Choice, and Rick (on the right end) took first in People’s Choice.

We took off Friday morning from Wautoma to Baraboo to the casino for breakfast. Then off to Platteville for refueling and changing a flat tire on Ryan’s plane (green shirt). And the last leg to Erie, IL near the Quad Cities. We headed back a day earlier than planned on Saturday due to threatening weather coming up from the south. It was an extremely bumpy ride on the way back with all of the thermals. There were a couple of times we were rolled to about a 30 degree bank angle from thermals. I enjoyed the break from the roller coaster ride and a ice cream treat in Monroe, WI. Then we clipped the edge of edge of Lake Mendota and over Lake Wisconsin on the last leg back to Wautoma. It was a new experience for me riding on a longer trip in the windy open cockpit. I’ll post some in-flight photos and video when I get a chance. Hopefully this is enough self motivation to do some more work on my 2 place Challenger.

aircraft salvage from a river in B.C.
#3 is my favorite jet flyby. I got that one a couple of weeks ago and didn't think to post it here. Here's one that someone might find interesting I got from a DLG friend in SC.

"Determination and ingenuity … and some brawn… you "gotta do what you gotta do to get 'er done"…
I’m sure there was a ferry permit!! Watch an amazing story of aircraft salvage from a river in B.C...
It’s almost 21 minutes but interesting…

Flybys are awesome. I have much respect for fighters,,, but they missed the BUFF!!! BUFF at full engine fly over while you are on the hammer head.... feels like your lungs will explode.
