Official Parkzone Vapor Mods thread !!

Since I couldn't find one, thought I'd start a thread with mods you've done or would like to do to your Vapor!

Right off the bat, I'd like to make the wing detachable so it would fit in a much smaller box. I could probably make it fit in the aluminum case I bought for my DX7, and carry them together like a couple of the smaller plantraco planes.

I have a couple ideas to make it happen, just gun-shy of having to break this little guy less than 24 hours after I bought it!

Post your MODS here! I think I'll try maintaining a list of the most useful info, here goes:

Post #11 - List of parts from back of Instruction Manual
Post #20 - Making your vapor lighter
Post #24,26 - using UV led's for glow-in-the-dark lighting
Post #33 - move control rods to get more authority
Post #40 - fantastic step by step guide to repairing your Vapors (link)

Probably should wait until it breaks from crashing, or the spare fuse is available.

Already had to mod the landing gear, weakest link in this setup. The gear itself is strong, the plastic tee they are ca'd to is not.
My front wing strut was ca'd to the frame, my buddies was not. In the manual, it hints that you can move the wing, but I think when they ca the landing gear in, it must get some on the wing strut, as the wing strut and landing gear plastic piece is one unit.
Nice little flyer though. Can fly circles around the plantraco stuff, literally.

I replaced the battery velcro with scotch tape. Not by choice the velcro just never worked.
Here's a list of mods I'd like to try
I'd like to make a better clip for the battery. And a loop handle behind the wing to pick it up easier. I keep grabbing the servos.
I'd also like to add some night lights.
A bomb release triggered by full down elevator.
A pilot with an American Flag for the 4th of July.

While you are at it why not strap the FlyCamone on the bottom for some aerial video! :D

I ordered a Vapor brick to put in an Aeroace sport, I'm gonna use the stock motors and props and thought about hinging the ailerons with the motors on to get a kind of vectored thrust.
Well, let's see if it works.

Vapor

I'm thinking of buying the bind and fly version to use with my BCX2 transmitter.

Are people buying bind and fly or RTF?

Is it easy to bind with your TX?

Takes all of 5 seconds with a dx7, after you set the model up in your radio.
Less time with the bcx2 radio.

Am I laying claim to the first official mod of the Parkzone Vapor??

A friend and I bought a vapour each, how to differentiate?

A red marker (in this case TEXTA brand) flowed on to the yellow parts of the wing, elevator and stab.
It looks like the wing was coloured red at the factory (if only my friend could color between the lines).

BCX2 transmitter will bind all by itself.

Plug battery in to plane, turn on transmitter, wait around 2 seconds - Done!

Is there no bind plug?

My hands aren't as steady as they used to be, but it still looks pretty good.
So amazed at the slow way they fly, seem to just hang.
Now if I could just work out how to shut off the Gym Air Con, then we could realy go to town with the aerobatics...
Best indoor flyer I have had - to date.
