The Mud River tow boat and Pristine Salvage barge are mind boggling!

It's great to see the Mud River and Pristine Salvage back again.
Do the seagulls still squawk as loud as they did before?

Thanks Kay for MR &PS, and jadeski for the pics. Looked like a great show.

Thank you for those pics. Mud River combo gets my vote too, just how do you get miniature flaking paint (on the wheelhouse) ? It is just working mucky and beautiful.

Looks like a good turn out with a lot of good looking boats to be seen. My vote goes to the Mud River and barge combo.

I don't know what technique Mud River Boatworks used to get flaking paint, but I have read that you can use rubber cement - place dots of cement on the object before painting, then use your finger to rub off the cement and paint after the paint dries.

Thanks Brooks, the technique is called "frisket". Any ideas on the water damaged ply door panel ? Yeah I know...varnish it and put it outside for 10 years or so ....! Bet you its got wood-worm holes too...!

Re Flaking paint:

As I recall, the builder mentioned toothpaste and a lot of patience.....

This could start a new thread: "How did you get that effect?"
Just like the rust discussion a while back.
