New Afghanistan pictures from today.
5 Attachment(s)
Went out to Torkam gate today along the Pakistan border, to Jalalalalabad, and a little place named Kogiani. Had to take the Chaplain out to do services for the boys that are in the middle of nowhere.

Nice flight, no bullets zinging by our heads, so, all in all, successful mission. We came back in through a really neat little valley with a river and waterfall. Nice, slow, fun flight.

Cant get the pictures loaded yet for some reason... they are coming though.

Maybe because RCGroups attachments were broken last night.

I figured my rug rats would like seeing them. Good kids, crazy (like thier dad) but good kids none the less.

Dont worry guys, there will be plenty more. You will probably be sick of seeing them before I get home.

As for what camera, its a Sanyo VPC T700 digital. Small, thin and light. Great for carrying in my pocket in the cockpit. It stores photos/video on a 2MB SD card. Thank Kmopar69 for getting it and sending it to me.

Im working on getting a shortish video uploaded on you tube.... not workin out too well at the moment. Its video of the same flight that these pictures came from.

I guess if you fly over the mountains that you say "don't fly there" you will get shot down and I surmise those locals are not friendly.

Sure looks rugged and desolate. Just how high are those mountains? It looks like your about 2500 to 3000 feet above, but I am only guessing.

Great pictures.

Cool pics Laine. What type of surface to air threats do you face over there? Small arms? Do they have MANPADS? Looks fun and scary at the same time. Stay safe!
