RC control via a computer
I'm trying to figure out a way to control a quadrocopter (probably a X-UFO or open source quadrocopter) with a PC joystick. I've come across some custom boards that can do similar things (control via a PS2 controller - http://www.lynxmotion.com/images/html/build026.htm). If you have heard of this before or can point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it. Thanks alot
Also this is my first post and I'm new to the forum. Hi all. This doesn't look like the right location for this post but I couldn't find one related to joystick control :P
Welcome to the forums!
I would say you should post this in the VTOL section because they are the ones that would require that kind of input.
I know what you are talking about though. I've seen it done in the US FIRST robotics competition. The team I saw there did it by rigging each output to a wireless serial port on the computer and then they used a special receiver on the robot to pick up those outputs. Mind you, the special receiver was HUGE and ate up power. Although it was pretty cool watching them control the robot like it was a video game.
Sorry i can't be of more help,
You should probably post in a different forun, "DIY Electronics", not here.
Any way, our USB v.4 interface (sorry for self advertising ;)) can do that, control an aircraft from a computer:
Here's its manual:
Thanks for your help guys, I'll post this in a different forum. I'll also look more into the mile high wings interface.
