Video: Night Flying at Parker Mt by Ray Gross
Here's my video of night flying at Parker Mt. last Thursday.
1) Cheata with new wing flying at sunset
2) JW with lights
3) Bats at dawn
(previous post moved from another thread)
Ray camped out at the Parker Thursday. I was invited but I declined for summer heat during day time (and for another reason described later.)
His purpose was to watch meteor shower forecast for this weekend. He had night flights with the help of navigation lights. I am not sure which of his planes was used.
He is an amateur astronomer. He used to take a couple of lady friends with him to keep him warm front and back when he sleeps at night.
Ray is a genius. Navigational light on the bottom of JW is shaped W and it looks like a gull wing. Light on the top is straight. Togther with the strobe, lights show the attitude and direction of the plane.
He shot the video himself while flying with one hand.
We've flown our Zagis/Bees etc at night with psylum sticks. Lots of fun - VERY draining, can't even imagine what DSing at night would be like.
It looks like this! http://www.thud.us/videos/rc/zion-c...-26-06-700k.wmv and Ian did film it with one hand flying with the other and his TX on a neck strap. Pilots, Deamon and The Predator. We did it at Willson Lake too with Jantar 2 along for 3 LED Bee DS ships going NUTZ! My brain and eyes were ROASTED after an hour of that!
Edit: Busted link, maybe Ian can drag it up here???
