Depron Canadair CL-415 by Nibbio

Hi folks !

The flyingboat bug has me for good :)
After my recent success with the Puddle Twin, i`m looking to build something a bit bigger. A bit of searching around the web for plans i found the 1,5m Depron build Canadair 415 from Nibbio.

The Original build thread can be found here:

I love to build with depron so i decided to give it a go!
I`m currently traveling with our Skyvan throughout Dropzones in Middle Europe so i`m building "on the run" out of my traveling rc-workshop box ;)

i`m going to use this build log as a motivation to keep building!

Currently i have cut the Fuselage main plate, keel formers and main frames.
Pics to follow.

Cheers

dang.. it`s the little things that hold you up... for example that i forgot to bring a decent sanding block ! So it`s off to the nearest hobby shop on monday to get some basic supplies before comencing fuselage assemby.

Just subscribing and chiming in. This may help with the motivation, knowing that someone else is waiting on the progress. Been wanting to get into water planes myself and don't really like wood so its a foamie for me. Best of luck on yours.

Are taking orders? pay 90% upfront?

That is a great looking plane. Nice job.

But i got a bit more stuff and also a LOT more depron so i hope i can continue building soon.

well a bit of an update.. the bits and pieces i have previously cut have made it out of my traveling box and are now at least on the working table ;)

i`m fixing a EP550 Hurricane i intend to take with me on my next trip first and i also have lots of work on the marlin i started in paralell, but i hope to get the fuselage skeleton finished, and hopefully the side and top skins before end of this weekend.

Well now.

Fuselage skeleton is glued together, now need to sand the outlines straight and start with the side skin to give the whole thing some stiffness.
