big "GRAUPNER" Mirage 2000 955mm wingspan
I found this side about the new large Graupner Mirage that does not come from Graupner. The company just seems to be the distributor for Central Europe I suppose.

I like the F-22 that they have. The Mirage is very cool also!

planes look alright, fans gotta go though, looks like the UH ones. Dont know why the wasted material for fixed struts though. And with the 1800 kv motor there pushing you'd be lucky to run it on 4 or 5s with that fan.

...maybe the struts are for retracts?
There is a new Graupner Fan as well. But it looks different to the fan shown with the Mirage.

here is the home page of the company that does the Mirage:

yeah your right. kinda looks like a uh rotor with a wemo midi housing. And while they show struts as fixed, I'm sure they could be adapted to retracts, but that stuff gets heavy for Electric stuff. They also show the smaller mirage in that catalog that has a 65mm impeller, that could be a whole different fan.

The motors on the site are cheap.

Somebody using them?

Hobby Lobby was flying this jet by FlyFly at SEFF in Atlanta. They said they would have it available in a couple of months. Said the supplied motor got hot and needed to be little lower kv. I like the looks but do not at all like the sound. I prefer a high pitched scream if possible. Would use my own motor if not motor and fan. Do not like the LG. Would find small retracts after making sure I had the right power system in it. Cool plane overall. Also tried to look at a new Mig 29 on Fly Fly website but wouldn't open. That looked really neat.

yeah i figured that 1800 kv was gonna be way too high. But a nice midi and motor swap would fix that thing. Those motors are cheap, but then again there cheap on uh website too. I think those are 2 polers, the other ones on UH (the quantum ones) are 6 poles so they have that extra oomph. Any of these are good fairly hipo midi type motors, but are all not good for these splashed gas fans. Even if you get them to work your lugging around a hv ESC and 12s just to get what a midi would on a castle 60 and 7 or 8s.

...Test results will be available sunday evening

Right now we r testing motors,escs etc,etc......

Very good kit....we got the m2000 and F22 kits from flyfly HK

#12 dlam1 May 17, 2007 09:43 AM

We have tested the motor from flyfly with the rotor of the kit, moderate i can say

With the same fan and Het 600-22 4 cell lipo:

108Amps !!! 1.380 Watts !!!

The motor works 40% off limits...too much...so we go 3cell lipo

Reports during the day......

The fan isn't good at all.I tryed 3 different at my balancer and all of them running like an 'egg'.At middle RPM tuned and you think that rotor will destroy whole plane.
A friend of mine bought F22 and 1800kv motor. With 5s about 1000kw.After weekend i will have video from maiden mine ,F22 ,MIRAGE.

So, it would be nice they would just sell the kit without a fan and the structs. It would bring the price of that modell down around 20$ too:)
But seriously, does the model need holes in the back? The intakes look rather large to me.
And about the Mig, is this model just for one or to fans?

#15 dlam1 May 17, 2007 07:08 PM

Dear Pipin the manual says that you gain 10% thrust.....?

We will try to measure thrust of the 2nd kit without the holes...

First impression is that a good setup is:

4400 4s2p 20C minimum,wemotec midi fan,het 600-22,esc between 80 to 100 amps

5 mins of full throttle

The enclosed fan is ...not so good

Rummors say that Mig project is abandoned or canceled or something like that...

I will post a small video tommorow afternoon (CET)
