Caution - Web Page with your info not secure

Folks,

You should think twice about using United Hobbies. If you go to the registration page where it asks you for all of your personal information (customer, email address, password but not credit card information) you will note that that page is not secure. It has a flashing "SSL 128 bit" in the header, but the page is NOT secure.

I would love to stand to be corrected, but I would never submit my personal information like that over a non-encrypted web page.

Someone will have access to your account at United Hobbies. Since they do not encrypt the page that creates the account (the one I showed above) I can not get to see what information they store in your account.

Again, I would use caution about ever submitting that much of your information over the web unencrypted. Identity theft is a real issue.

...I also have an issue with any company that would have a flashing "SSL 128 BIT" on a page with personal information and then have the page unencrypted.

ssl?

I've noticed my computer flashing annnoying messages about the page you are going to is not secure, blah blah.... back and forth within UH. I Obviously don't worry about it enough to even know what is says.

My identity ain't worth jack.

Typ,

I completely understand your point but here is mine:

UH knows the following on me:
Name, Address, Phone Number

Which are piece of data that anyone can acquire with my IP address and google.

When my order is done through UH, I go to paypal to perform the payment which is secure so all is well.

Identify theft requires more data like a SSN, credit card info, passport, etc...

I also am anal and check my bank and credit card balances every morning when I wake up. So I am not at all worried about identify theft, especially through UH.

Just my 2 cents.

Everyone is entitled to their opinions and feelings.
