F3P Equipment Weight and Information
6 Attachment(s)
This is a resource sheet for fliers of light weight F3P or Light Indoor 3D planes (under 200g). With the large number of Servos and growing variety of ESC, Rx, Motors etc and the sometimes inaccurate data given by sellers or manufacturers maybe it is time to do our own.

Data prefered at this stage is "ACTUAL USER DATA" manufacturers of light weight equipment cheat about weights in particular wire weights and plug headers.

The attached Zip file is an excel spreadsheet, as it starts to fill up I will also place a PDF version here as well. Please feel free to post anything to add to the list here. This is not a dicussion thread and postings will be trimmed over time as the data is added to the chart.

If any of you want to add to the excel file then feel free

I just bought a Cyclon Micro...and it indeed weighs 27 G's

#3 AirNerd Nov 12, 2006 11:30 PM

I can also take 2 grams off HS-50s & 55s.

Hi All,

I have about run out of bits to add. Anyone got any other bits numbers or links to fill in the gaps please add them. Even if you think a particular item shouldn't be there post it and why not or if the item is a bit suspect for this use.

In particular can someone have a good look at the Futaba Rx and Servos, they have been poorly supported in Australia so very few people use them. JR Rules down under ;)

For the receivers it might be worth splitting the 35MHz/36MHz and 72MHz units into two groups as many types are only available in one or the other.
The following are all 35MHz (probably 36MHz too?)
Where 2 weights are shown they indicate: (Claimed weight/~measured weight).
My scales are only accurate to 1 gram thus the ~.

Receivers (35MHz)
Multiplex RX-5 (8g/~9g)
Jeti Rex 5 (8.5g)
ACT Pico 4 (4.5g/~5g with full size crystal) - I like this receiver!
ACT Digital 4 (5g with crystal)
MZK Penta (2.8g)
MZK Penta light (2.1g)
MZK Penta pro (4g)
MZK Quadra

MicroREX220-3-3200 (11g/~12g) - may be slightly high but scale error is 1g!
MicroREX220-6-1600 (21g/~21g)
MicroREX220-6-2000 (21g)

3s TP480 prolite (32g/~37g as supplied)
2s Hyperion 300mAh 20C (~19g with 40mm cable & micro deans)

CC ThunderBird 9 (8g/~9g)

I found this GIF on another thread. I hope I don't get in trouble for reposting it but it has a lot good info on what the "Pros" are using in Europe.

That's Jürgen's. He won't mind.

thanks RCA,

I used to have a few of those from earlier this year (posted here somewhere) but lost them along the way.

Tim : this is such a useful thread.

Brilliant !!

Days of work, all done, what a time saver.

Now all that is needed is a popularity or personal rating index,
and any dummy can be an instant expert.

Thanks Tim !

Hi all,

Version 2.0 is underway. I will also do a PDF version along with that one. Should be done in a couple of days.

Still working on it work is getting in the way :(

Strecker website: www.rs-e-motoren.de
The 12 grams 195.03 motor is superior for F3P, but has a pricetag... ;)

The Strecker is 1500kV, the MicroRex 3200kV and the NanoCyclon 1900kV.

Impressions here in Holland are the MicroRex does not have the pull out of the Strecker, maybe the 1900kV NanoCyclon is a better budget option.

www.mamo-models.com is selling the NanoCyclon too now and started advising this motor instead of the MicroRex for the new Manta kit....

New 17g motor from MP Jet
I found this at Icare. Looks promising. $45.00 and has two ball bearings.
