AerodromeRC 1:9th scale Sopwith Camel

I am pleased to announce that the AerodromeRC 1:9th scale Sopwith Camel F1 has now been added to our web site and store. The design is all new and not a re-scale of our Peter Rake 50" version. The kit is in prototype stage so it is for early adopters and has no manual yet. It is designed for AXI 2808/20 brushless DD and is full house. The kit features both pull-pull and pushrod style setups for rudder and elevator. The four ailerons are controlled by bottom wing mounted servos. Top wing alignment is made easy by laser cut plywood IP struts which facilitate process. The same style of cabane system was used on our Sopwith Pup. The kit also includes a pair of dummy Vickers MGs and a 2 profile dummy pilot figure and of course as in all our kits, wheel materials. Airfoils are flat bottomed and spars are bass or spruce. Scale number of ribs and riblets are featured. Leading edges are 1/8" dowel and trailing edges are top and bottom 1/32" laser cut ply. The hump and machine gun channels are formed by laminated laser cut balsa so that no elaborate carving is needed, only sanding and balsa filling. The cowl is similar to our other offerings being built of laser ply and balsa rings with a 1/32" ply wrapper. A teaser image of the plan is shown on the products web page.

What size model does 1:9th make it and can you buy the guns seperately. There must be an awful lot of Peter Rake models crying out for them. Mine included :)
Oops just read the model is 39.2" wingspan. I would still be interested in any "spare" gun kits though!

I have been planning to offer these in the store and have a handful of 1:8th scale pairs made up. They would sell for $4 a pair. and require some 1/4" dowel or tubing for a barrel.
