Great Planes ElectriFly Lancair ES EP ARF
Looks, builds, and flies...smooth.
Introduced in 1985, the Lancair ES homebuilt was an instant hit, winning
awards at airshows by the early 1990s. Great Planes successfully replicated
the Lancair ES as an 80" wingspan glow-powered model in 2003, and now we've
done it again * this time in a clean, quiet electric version! This
easy-to-assemble ARF captures the "racy" looks of the original in strong,
lightweight fiberglass * as well as its swift aerobatic performance!
* Includes a perfectly matched Speed 400 motor with gearbox, 30A electronic
speed control, spinner and prop.
* The honeycomb-core composite fiberglass material enables this ARF to
reproduce the sleek lines and subtle curves of the full-size Lancair ES *
and is enhanced by a striking white and metal flake purple trim scheme.
* The clear canopy is held securely in place with magnets * and allows for
easy access to the battery compartment.
Assembling the Lancair ES EP ARF requires as little as six hours; the
fiberglass fuselage, wing tips, wheel pants and cowl come prepainted, and
the built-up wood wing and tail are professionally precovered in a
high-quality heat-shrink film.
The included fixed landing gear is in the same tricycle configuration as the
full-size plane * offering the option of a steerable nose wheel for greater
ground control. White fiberglass wheel pants add a crowning touch of detail.
With its 43" wingspan, the Lancair ES is easy to transport. The prebuilt
wing panels "plug-in" quicklyand easily at the field.
The gearbox mounts in front of the firewall for a clean installation, with
the motor bolted in behind it. Cooling holes for ventilation have already
been made in the fuselage.

Looks great except for the landing gear (Looks weak). I know it's an early picture but I've not had good luck with wire gear like these especially when there are wheel pants on the end of those wires.
Up grade with a brushless?
Do you think it would be possible to convert this to glow?
