Just the motors mount.

Is it possible to use these motor mounts for a Y6 format?

edit... found another picture of the mounts. Looks like the motor plate is only possible to mount on one side.

Aren't the anodized aluminum braces in the center also new?

just the motor mounts 'upgrade'.. the aluminum braces have always been there along with the silver ones for the side arms.

No it the same aluminum but while they took pictures the reflection of the black carbon make it look like it anodized.
Only the new motor mount since this new motor mount alow the motor sit at the end of the boom instead the top of the boom, it easy to mount then The old one and it make it longer so I think you can swing 14 inch props If need in hex config

I hop that copterframe can post a picture of the bottom of the new motor mount I want to see if I can mount it in Y6

The new motor mount is now plastic and only being held to the boom with single screw?

I am afraid this weaker and less stiff than the previous version.

What do you think?

Wish they had ditched the plastic clips for locking the arms with a scaled down T810/960 mechanism. I'm also not sure the new motor mounts are an improvement either. It looks like they tried to make smaller plastic versions of the T810/960 metal ones.

I do like that Tarot is trying new stuff though.

Just take a look on the stock, the connection to the tube is really strong and it is not the soft plastic, also this mount structure seem can absorb some kind of vibration. it is really look like the FY680, please feel free on more question.

FY690S little bit bigger and newer, the motor mount is refer to the 810 and 900.

Indeed it is hard to make decision, I have both instock and FY680 cost little bit less.

so my theory is right we can use this to mount in the Y6 config as the mount have a bottom plate for the esc remove that carbon piece replace with the motor mount and you can mount another motor on the bottom.

Copterstart if you can take a picture with a motor on it so we can see hows the clearance for the motor when it sit on it and also a picture just like the one you posted but turn the mount to 45degree i want to see the side please. If the plastic is good this is a better mount but i dont think 1 screw will make it any better as it will cause more vibration. if them make this mount like the T810 where it mount by 4 screws then it something good.

thanks for the picture

The screw through a hole in the tube would make alignment easier for sure but the FY680 was not that hard. Just put the mounts on slightly loose and use a straight edge and tighten them when the straight edge is flat across all three.
